Top 3 Anime We Loved This Winter
The season is almost over. All our favorite shows are wrapping up as we are getting ready for a very exciting Spring, but that makes it for a perfect time to look back and see which were the top 3 anime we enjoyed the most this Winter. If you are like me and love watching anime shows while they are still hot, then I’m pretty sure you have a good idea. However, if you haven’t been able to catch up to your anime lineup, then let me help you.
1) Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo! 2 (10 episodes)
Winter, with all its coldness, has given us one of the funniest and at times hot anime of the season. The show is the second season of last year’s “Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo!” which tells the story of a boy who has given up to his social life to play games all day and not do anything else. After dying, however, he is reborn in a game-inspired world, where adventurers can pick their own skills and they are paid to fulfill quests.
However, things are not at all what they seem. A hilarious story that manages to remain true to its identity and gives us even funnier adventures. With 10 episodes to sink your teeth into, Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo! 2 is a must-watch. There has been no confirmation of a third season, but I surely hope we get some more time with the characters of this show.
2) Masamune-kun no Revenge (12 episodes)
Even though I’m not a big fan of the harem genre and haven’t been able to watch many romance-centered anime shows, “Masamune-kun no Revenge” sounds promising to its premise. A wealthy girl has bullied a young boy by calling him “Piggy” when they were young. However, many years later, the boy returns as a handsome man, getting ready to exact his revenge on the wealthy girl by making her fall in love with him and then break her heart when the time is right.
But, as his relationship with the girl gets deeper, the boy starts questioning his motives. A lukewarm and comedic approach to the romantic genre, “Masamune-kun no Revenge” might not sound like too much at first, but it grows on you as the story unfolds. The show has 12 episodes and remains at the top of winter anime to watch if you haven’t already.
3) Ao no Exorcist: Kyoto Fujouou-hen (12 episodes)
As luck would have it, “Ao no Exorcist” was one of the first anime I’ve ever watched that made me fall in love with the anime genre as a whole. “Ao no Exorcist”, translated as “Blue Exorcist” had a dark and yet colorful atmosphere with interesting characters and lore. While the first season aired six years ago, what is regarded as its second season, “Ao no Exorcist Kyoto Fujouou-hen” saw a change in the atmosphere of the show.
For once, it’s not able to keep up with the events of the show if you haven’t watched season one, something that is understandable. However, the show negates the events of the first season after a certain point, so things can get a bit messy, even for old time fans like me. Nevertheless, personally, I think that the show is a must-watch this winter but I must say, I was expecting more things out of it in the end.
These are the top 3 most popular anime of winter 2017. Either you are a fan of action anime shows, romance, or pure comedy, there’s a pick for you on this list. Have you watched any of these shows? If so, let us know in the comments below.
